Shipping Providers

Shipping Providers identify the fulfilment agents/options for a specified delivery zone, the rates applicable, and which products can be fulfilled.

Shipping providers are shown to the customers on checkout, to select their preferred shipping method. This means a shipping provider can be DHL, FedEx, etc... but it may also be "Same Day Delivery", "Next Day Delivery", etc...

Default Shipping Providers

By default, Lifeboat creates a few shipping providers to get your store started. These are however disabled by default.

If you don't have any shipping providers enabled your customers will not be restricted to choose between Local Delivery & Pickup, if these have been enabled. 

Creating a Shipping Provider

1. Go to Settings > Shipping Providers
2. Click on Add Shipping Provider
3. Give your provider a Name
   This could be; DHL, FedEx or even "Same Day Delivery" or "Next Day Delivery"...
4. Under Shipping Rates tick the delivery zones you'd like this provider to fulfil
   
   1. Select the shipping class this provider can fulfil
   2. Enter the fee to charge when shipping an item with the selected shipping class in the specified delivery zone
   3. Enter a note to shown during checkout for this rate
5. Click Save

Editing a Shipping Provider

1. Go to Settings > Shipping Providers
2. Click on the shipping provider you'd like to edit
3. Make the necessary changes
4. Click Save

Deleting a Shipping Provider

1. Go to Settings > Shipping Providers
2. Click on the bin icon next to the shipping provider you'd like to delete
3. Confirm your decision
