Importing Products

Do you have your products listed down in an Excel sheet or Google sheet? Through the Lifeboat product import feature you could turn all that information into product pages on your Lifeboat store, saving you hours in data entry, and drastically reduce data errors.

Importing Products

Importing your products from a list allows you to quickly populate your online store with Lifeboat. This is ideal for merchants using inventory tracking software, or excel sheets to manage their inventory.

Available Columns

Even though your data-sheet can contain any number of columns, Lifeboat can only need the following;

• SKU (Unique product ID) - Required
• Title - Required if new
• Price - Required if new
• Summary
• Discounted Price
• Description
• Track Stock - Yes or No
• Stock Amount
• Condition - New / Refurbished / Used
• Tax Code
• Shipping Class
• URL Path
• Meta Title
• Meta Description

Importing via Google Sheets

1. Go to Products
2. Click on Import
   
3. Select From Google Sheets in the popup window
   
4. Click on Import From Google
5. Select the account you have the products sheets on
6. Follow the instructions provided by Google
7. Click Allow
8. Click on the file containing your products
   
9. Select how the columns in the file should map to the product properties of Lifeboat
   

   Note:

   If using standard names for the columns in your file, Lifeboat might be able to auto-detect it and will automatically map it. Always make sure the auto-mapping matches your requirements.

   
10. Confirm the rows found matches the number of products in your file
11. Select what should happen if the provided SKU exists on your site already
    1. Skip - Will not import that product from the file
    2. Update - Will update the product fields specified in the file
       
12. Click on Import

    Import Note:

    Do not close your browser, turn off the computer or navigate away from the page while the import is running.

13. Click on Done

Importing via CSV File 

1. Go to Products
2. Click on Import
   
3. Select From CSV File in the popup window
4. Upload your file in the specified field
5. Select how the columns in the file should map to the product properties of Lifeboat
   

   Note:

   If using standard names for the columns in your file, Lifeboat might be able to auto-detect it and will automatically map it. Always make sure the auto-mapping matches your requirements.

   
6. Confirm the rows found matches the number of products in your file
7. Select what should happen if the provided SKU exists on your site already
   1. Skip - Will not import that product from the file
   2. Update - Will update the product fields specified in the file
      
8. Click on Import
