Showcase Theme

 The showcase theme is perfect for the retail of clothing and cosmetics, even though it can be used for many other use cases.

Installing the theme

1. Open Design in the Lifeboat admin interface
2. Click on Install Theme
3. Find the Showcase theme
4. Click Install
   Once installed the theme will be listed underneath the theme preview
   
5. Click on Actions
6. Click on Make Default
   Once the default theme is changed, the preview will be updated
   

Home Banners

This theme lets you have up to 3 banners, but they all have to be linked to products.

1. Open Design in the Lifeboat admin interface
2. Click on Customise
3. Select the products to use in the banner by filling in; Featured Product 1, Featured Product 2, and Featured Product 3
4. Click Save

Theme Elements

To change the product image that shows up in the banner;

1. Open the Featured Product for editing
2. Upload an image in the Banner Image field found under Theme Elements
3. Click Save

Featured Collections

In the Showcase theme, up to 6 collections can be featured on your home page.

To setup feature collections;

1. Go to your collections list; Products > Collections
2. Open the collection you want to feature
3. In the Tags field, add the tag: show_in_home
   
   
4. Click Save

Featured Collections Heading & Subheading

Additionally, the showcase theme also supports editing of the heading and subheading of the featured collections section, to update;

1. Open Design in the Lifeboat admin interface
2. Click on Customise
3. Enter your heading in the Categories Section Title field
4. Enter your subheading in the Categories Section Subtitle field
5. Click Save

Featured Products

Similar to the featured collection, you can feature up to 12 products on your home page.

To set up featured products;

1. Go to Products in the Lifeboat admin interface
2. Open the product you'd like to feature
3. Add the tag show_in_home
   
   
4. Click Save

Featured Products Heading & Subheading

Same as the featured collections, the showcase theme also supports editing of the heading and subheading of the featured products section, to update;

1. Open Design in the Lifeboat admin interface
2. Click on Customise
3. Enter your heading in the Products Section Title field
4. Enter your subheading in the Products Section Subtitle field
5. Click Save

On Sale Section

In the showcase theme, you can also add an On Sale section to your home page.

To set up on sale products;

1. Go to Products in the Lifeboat admin interface
2. Open the product you'd like to show
3. Add the tag on_sale
   
4. Click Save

On Sale Section Heading & Subheading

To edit the heading and subheading of the On Sale section

1. Open Design in the Lifeboat admin interface
2. Click on Customise
3. Enter your heading in the Sale Section Title field
4. Enter your subheading in the Sale Section Subtitle field
5. Click Save

Parallax Image

If you'd like to add a full-width image to your home page in the Showcase theme, you can do so by adding a Parallax Image.

To set up the Parallax Image;

1. Open Design in the Lifeboat admin interface
2. Click on Customise
3. Upload an image in the field labelled Parallax Image
4. Click Save

Bottom Section

The Showcase theme also supports a free text area on the home page. This can be useful to add a testimonial or store summary.

To set up the Bottom Image;

1. Open Design in the Lifeboat admin interface
2. Click on Customise
3. Enter your text in the field labelled Bottom Section
4. Click Save

Map Location

The Showcase theme gives you the option to have a map with the store's location on the site, specifically in the Contact page. To do this;

1. Open Design in the Lifeboat admin interface
2. Click on Customise
3. Enter your shop's name and full address in the field labelled Map Location
   1. Get the shop's full name (1) and address (2) from Google Maps as shown below 
   2. Input them as shown below in the field Map Location
4. Click Save

And the result should be as follows.

Site Footer

The footer in the showcase theme features the option to show 2 menus; Quick Links & Company Links. These should be used to have links to important pages such as Return Policy and Company History, on every page of your site.

To set up the Footer;

1. 1. Open Design in the Lifeboat admin interface
   2. Click on Customise
   3. Select the menu to use in the field labelled Quick Links
   4. Select the menu to use in the field labelled Company Links
   5. Click Save
